2001: A Space Odyssey
1968, directed by Stanley Kubrick
Stanley Kubrick's epic (and relatively accurate) science fiction film follows an astronaut's voyage to Jupiter and his relationship with the sentient computer HAL after the discovery of a featureless alien monolith. The film, based on the story "The Sentient" by Arthur C. Clark, deals with themes of existentialism, technology, AI, human evolution, and extraterrestrials.
